Our Acceptable Use Policy (Policy) sets out the acceptable and unacceptable uses of artificial intelligence features provided by LawVu (AI Services).
Our policy may change as our AI Services evolve. LawVu will ensure that our policy aligns with industry best practices and adheres to all applicable laws.
General Requirements
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including intellectual property, data protection, privacy and artificial intelligence
- Use the AI Services for the entity or firm’s internal business requirements, rather than personal or household purposes
- Review all outputs from the AI Services (Outputs) for accuracy and appropriateness for your use case before these are used. You and your Personnel are responsible for all decisions made, advice given, and actions taken based on your use of the AI Services.
- Ensure that Outputs are not relied upon for decision making without human review or as any form of legal or other advice.
Unacceptable Uses
- Allowing users to access the AI Services to self-serve or generate legal documents that would usually be provided by a licensed professional
- Accessing the services to request legal, financial or other professional advice that would be provided by licensed professionals
- LawVu prohibits users from attempting to bypass deliberate access restrictions to information.
- Systematic or automated scraping, mining, extraction, or harvesting of personally identifiable data, or similar activity, from the Outputs of the AI Services, except with respect to data that you have provided as input to the LawVu Services and which you are legally entitled to process, for so long as you retain such entitlement.
- Allowing the AI Services to make consequential decisions or fully automated decisions without appropriate human oversight, testing or other evaluation to mitigate any potential risks of your use case. Consequential decisions include those which produce an adverse impact or legally affect an individual.
- Probing the services for personal information or seeking opinions on sensitive topics.
- The AI Services must not be used to violate the rights of others or in a manner that is harmful to others.
- Intentionally circumventing safety filters and functionality or prompt models to act in a manner that violates our Agreement, our Acceptable Use Policy, or Microsoft’s Code of Conduct for Azure OpenAI Service.
This Acceptable Use Policy supplements, and is incorporated into, the LawVu SaaS Terms and Conditions (or other Agreement between you and LawVu governing your use of the LawVu Services) (Agreement). If there is a conflict between any part or parts of this Policy and the Agreement, the Agreement will apply to the extent of the conflict. Capitalised terms not otherwise defined in this Policy have the meaning in the Agreement.
