We live in a world where legal teams want and are more expected to become data-driven. We also know that regular reporting is a requirement that a lot of people say takes too much time and effort. The great news is that when you use legal tech to consolidate information and manage workflows, you’re creating a really valuable central repository of data.

So in this video we’ll take a quick look at the way law view’s, insights, and reporting features. Make it easy for you to use that valuable data repository for a wide variety of different purposes. This is the dedicated reports area of the law view, legal workspace. So this is a demo account, so there’s a bit of funky data in here, but the important thing is that you can easily configure the workspace to reflect your language and your ways of working.

What we’re looking at on the screen is the general counsel dashboard. This dashboard is a consolidated view of key metrics for the workflows that you manage in Law View. In this case, it’s matter, contract and Spend management, plus the work you do with outside counsel. This is a great example of the overall approach that we take to reporting in Law View.

So all that data that you’re generating as you do your day-to-day work. Gets turned into highly visual out of the box. Easy to use dashboards. Up here on the top left of the screen, we can see that in addition to the GC dashboard, there are also out of the box dashboards for matter management, contract management, and spend management.

Let’s just dive in a little bit deeper. Every reporting page has a combination of summary information at the top like these that make it easy for you to see and share key metrics. So, for example, law View is the contract repository for our business. So it’s useful to know how many agreements are in the system, the value, the kind of contracts that we’re handling.

We can explore our data or we can answer specific questions by combining dashboards and using filters. Like right now, I’ll just change this to an annual view, and now I have new information in the summary and I can compare this year’s contract activity with last year’s. I wanna drill into the contracts that are currently in approval and signing stage, and then filter down by department.

Now I can communicate with my peers around the business about the work we’re doing and collaborate on actions to move them forward Further down, we have reports that help us take action on key dates and get insight into contract turnaround times, which we can use to identify operational improvements or set and report on SLAs.

Let’s take a look at the matter management reports. You’ll see the similar pattern here. We start off with a summary of key information for all of our matters, legal work, and requests. And as we scroll down, we get more detail and we can slice, dice, and filter to answer more questions. In this section, we can easily see what kind of work we’re doing for whom, and we can even set our system up to track and report on risk and complexity.

So many teams struggle to really understand, let alone communicate about all the work that they’re doing. And so this kind of out of the box always on reporting is hugely beneficial with almost no effort on your part. You get the insights and information that you need to be more data driven, and if you manage matters, contracts and spend in law view, there’s that added benefit of having all your data in one view.

Law view spend management reports are equally awesome, and they have that similar pattern of summaries, plus key information and detail for reporting and analysis. Now, reporting and insights are critical components of spend management, so definitely take a look at our spend management demo, if that’s something you’re interested in.

There’s also an admin report, which is really cool for information about how law view itself is being used across your team and your business. And that’ll help you assess and communicate about the impact of your investment. You can probably imagine how great it would be to use a dashboard like this in a meeting with your board, your C-suite, or your team.

You can use it live or you could download and share it, but what if you need more advanced custom reporting for specific use cases? Let’s just take a quick look at how that works. This is what we call a matters grid in law view, and I cannot overstate how much our customers love these grids. They’re useful for lots of things, but in the case of reporting, grids are the easiest way to build an unlimited number of more detailed bespoke reports.

It’s literally just a matter of dragging and dropping any of the fields that you need into your view. You can export these reports. Or you can save them as reusable views like the ones we see on the left. You can even add these reports to your personalized hub in just a few clicks.

Grids are a feature of matter management, contract management, and spend management. So I love this aspect of law view because it gives us a lot of flexibility to use the data that we have. Anytime we don’t need specialist skills or time consuming report creation. So now we’ve seen the key reporting and insights features of the law view, legal workspace, a variety of interactive visual reports always available in real time.

The ability to slice, dice, filter, drill, export, and share an easy to use custom report building through grids. There are also more advanced options available if you wanna integrate law view data with your own BI tools or build custom dashboards.
