The business’s experience with the LawVu legal workspace

In this practical demo, Ashley and Deanna walk through the LawVu Legal Workspace from the perspective of business users—showing exactly how legal teams can streamline collaboration and enable true self-service across the organization. From a fully branded intake portal to structured request forms and email-integrated updates, the video demonstrates how intuitive and customizable the experience is for non-legal stakeholders. Business users can easily submit legal or contract requests, track their progress, collaborate with legal, and avoid the dreaded “black hole” effect of traditional intake processes.

The session also covers how users can generate NDAs and other contracts via guided wizards, upload existing agreements, and move smoothly through review and approval workflows—ensuring compliance while accelerating execution. The experience is tailored to minimize friction and reduce back-and-forth, while still maintaining control and consistency with a single source of truth. For legal teams aiming to deliver faster service, boost engagement with the business, and modernize their operations without overcomplicating things, this demo shows exactly how LawVu makes it possible.

This is our, uh, demo platform. Okay. Um, and you’ll see at the very top there’s a beautiful banner, which is again, customizable. So it’s your branding. We’ve got the logo up in the top left hand corner, and that welcoming message. So, you know, you really get to stamp the culture of your organization there.

Before we scroll down, I just wanna note here that we’ve got, um, a tab up here. And these tabs really show where we’re at the moment is home. Uh, we’ve got my work. So when they start to create those matter requests and those contracts, they have ability to be able to see their previous work. And when we scroll down.

This, again, just really highlights the ability of it being customizable to the business. We’ve got FAQs, so we can again, provide links to additional resources, and we’ve broken ours up here into buttons that support the need for contract requests, all legal requests. So what is it that the business need from legal?

Mm-hmm. And what are the contract requests that the business would also need to be able to get those out the door? Efficiently, but we’re gonna use the example where someone in the business has a dispute and they would gravitate towards this button here. Yep. Now there can be various types of disputes.

So what we’ve done on our demo site is really provided all the information that an employee needs so that they are landing in the right matter form. The more information that we can give them ensures that then the information that’s gonna come through to legal is true and correct, and everything that they need to be able to complete.

So if I, for example, in this case, I’m gonna seek the IP dispute. And it presents me with the form, and this form again, is customizable. We can surface the right fields that ensure that legal can get on and do what they need to do quickly and efficiently. So now what we’ll do is we’ll go to my work. So by selecting on my work, I can now see all of the requests that I have sent through to legal, and this is the one that we’ve just done here.

I also live an email, or the business is likely to live an email so we can get notifications to ensure that once we’ve set that request through to the legal team, it’s not going into a black hole. So this email integration runs through an. Can run through the entire process if people prefer to also be getting notifications and email or working there, and that’s also customizable.

Okay. They can choose to see where they would like to have the notification sent. Absolutely. And in this case here, I’m also. Toggling back to uh, my work. Mm-hmm. And I can see that now a matter manager has been assigned to, um, my matter and I can now collaborate with the lawyer very easily. Mm-hmm. And of course we will know that whilst we would like to think that we can capture all of that information up the front, there will still need to be.

Occasionally connecting back and forth and to collaborate, sharing documents, all that. Absolutely. Other information that we might need. And we’ve done that really nicely by the status update functionality, utilizing conversations. Mm-hmm. Or we talked about actions,

business needs to be able to get contracts out quicker and easier. Sure. So one of the ones is an NDA. Lots of requests to be able to self-serve and get an NDA out. And the beautiful thing about the option here is that we have set up a wizard, which we can do for clients as well, and once they complete the information that are in these fields that services and is populated in the template that has been uploaded by the legal team.

So we’ve got one source of truth and we have the ability to control any changes that need to be made within that NDA. So there’s no need to worry now about various versions within an organization. And as a business user, all I have to do is fill out the information. It’s gonna populate that. Correct.

That standard NDA, correct? Yeah, absolutely. And I know what information that we need because you can see here on uh, some of these fields, we’ve got a red bar. Mm-hmm. Which means it’s a compulsory field. Sure. And we are even putting in key dates. That’s right. Which we will, which can we use to manage renewals or Correct.

And we’ll get reminders to ensure that when there is an expiry date coming up that we will know that’s coming up. And you’ll see now the contract create contract button mm-hmm. Has now, uh, changed color. So we are ready now to be able to create our contract and we will be opening up to what we call the preview screen for the business user.

And it provides ’em with all the information that they need to be able to review. Their contract. Mm-hmm. And also to get that out for signing, there are no roadblocks. It’s as simple as that. If you head up to the stage here, we can take that straight from draft to signing if that’s the next step for the process.

And when we click on that button, we then presented with the options about how we want to get that out for signing.

So let’s go for a subscription agreement where we know that in our demo, uh, environment, we have, uh, an approval workflow. And what we’re asked to do first is to actually upload that version of our contract so that business user can upload into the repository as well as use our wizards to create their own.

Yeah, correct. So here I’ve uploaded the agreement to date. Yep. And then I complete all of the fields. Mm-hmm. So then we’ve got our version that’s going through again, it surfaces me back to the previous screen. Mm-hmm. And now I’m in a position where I need to take it to the next stage. And you can see here in this workflow, I can’t get it past signing until I’ve gone through the approval process.

So when I click on the approval process and stage. I can see who can approve my contract. Mm-hmm. Which is really great. I now know that in this workflow, someone within this team will be able to, will all be notified. Mm-hmm. And then one of them will be able to approve my contract. So if we want to have one source of truth, this is where we do it
